Long Island Ice Tea
Long Island Ice Tea: A Variety Mix Ice tea is something common, and has been around since the ancient times. But another recent form of ice tea has been growing much lately in its own way, which is that of the long island ice tea. Although this drink actually has only little in common with the typical ice tea, the name is derived due to the popular variation of mixes, one of which is the ice tea itself. It started off almost thirty years ago, when a bartender at the Oak Beach Inn waterfront nightclub, Chris Bendicksen, did an experimental mixture of cocktail. Why this drink was named long island ice tea was because the waterfront nightclub was located in Babylon on Long Island, New York. How is it Made? Tea Leaf This popular mix comes from the variation of vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec, and specified parts sour mix with a splash of cola or other mixture such as lemon juice of the original ice tea itself. Most of the time, this drink is served with a lemon slice in order to enhance the resemblance of a non-alcoholic drink, which was why another reason this drink was so-called invented in certain cultures. Long island ice tea is also resembled to ice tea because it also shares the similar taste of the tea itself. Your Cup of Tea: The Tea Leaf Tea, which is the second most popular beverage in the world, is made by steeping a tea leaf, or ..... One factor that differentiates this drink from other cocktails is that of the percentage of alcohol, which is higher in this drink than in many of the rest. Most of the long island ice tea options have at least 28 percent alcohol in them, and this is due to the proportionally small amount of mixer that is used in the drink. It should be known however that this is not the same case in all places. After all, many countries alter this alcohol level, and most of them have a different mixture as well. Additionally, many places only use liquors and cola alone, without the sour mix in order to make this long island ice tea drink, and on certain occasions, lemon or lime juice or even lime cordial would be added to it. Professional long island ice tea makers, when asked, will usually say that the mixture is one of the easiest to make, provided that you know by heart the correct ratio of the mixture and the correct mixture as well. There are just few simple steps, which would be to pour all the ingredients or mixture in to a highball glass filled with ice, and add cola for the color. For decorative purpose, add a slice of lemon to it .
